Curcumin (100 mg/kg, 5 days, PO) suppressed the amount of NF-ĸB, COX-2, 5-LOX, and iNOS expression in inflammatory bowel disease, and inhibited toll-like receptor-4 (TLR-4)-induced NF-ĸB activation in experimental colitis in Sprague–Dawley male rats [116]. The gene discussed is TLR4; the disease is inflammatory bowel disease.
