Accordingly, in our previous studies evaluating the anti-inflammatory effects of nano-emulsified curcumin, we demonstrated a reduction in NFκB activation, macrophage-specific chemoattractant MCP-1 secretion, in vitro macrophage migration using both primary cells and cell lines, and macrophage recruitment in a mouse model of peritonitis [16].
