Although the recently developed DDR inhibitors such as the PARP inhibitor Talazoparib have shown promising activity as monotherapies when tested on SCLC models [86], combining these agents with cytotoxic chemotherapies, other DDR targeting agents [6], or with immunotherapy is expected to have greater clinical responses as this may increase the number of patients responding as well as the duration of the response [87]. This evidence concerns the gene DDR1 and small cell lung carcinoma.
