For these reasons, we conducted a study in a large cohort of adolescent patients with obesity and no hypothalamic-pituitary disease, aimed to confirm a positive relationship between relative GH deficiency and MAFLD, and to show, for the first time in a pediatric study, a correlation between serum levels of GH and IGF1 with hepatic histology. Here, GH1 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
