It is likely that the hypercoagulable state of our CRC/MBD patients was, in part, platelet and leukocyte driven (through the activation of phosphoSyk-Y525/Y526) and perpetuated by plasma enrichment with procoagulant agonists and the ITIH family of thrombo-inflammatory mediators. The gene discussed is ITIH1; the disease is Marchiafava-Bignami disease.
