The transfection of non-tumorigenic human keratinocyte lines (Rhek-1) immortalized with a hybrid adenovirus 12-SV40 virus with the C-LMP variant that originated from nude mouse passaged NPC CAO showed a higher ability to grow in low serum concentrations and higher clonability with increasing LMP1 expression as well as oncogenic potential in vivo demonstrated by the ability to induce invasive tumors in SCID mice [49]. The gene discussed is PDLIM7; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
