As expected, both the degree of steatosis as determined by H&E and detected by perilipin 2 staining correlated significantly with the transaminase and bilirubin as well as y-GT levels in serum (Figures S1 and S2), but not with both alkaline phosphatase and choline esterase levels in serum (p-value > 0.05) (Figure S2).
