Under the action of intermittent hypoxia (IH), the expression of ALKBH5 was upregulated in lung cancer cells, resulting in a decrease in the level of m6A. Knockdown of ALKBH5 under this condition significantly inhibited cell invasion by upregulating the m6A level of FOXM1 mRNA and reducing its translation efficiency [139]. The gene discussed is ALKBH5; the disease is lung carcinoma.
