By constructing G0S2-cluster-differentiation trajectories using Monocle, they identified lipid catabolic branches and networks, constructed a comprehensive single-cell-resolved differentiation roadmap for melatonin-treated preadipocytes, and provided new insights into the G0S2 cluster, which may be a major contributor to melatonin-mediated obesity (Figure 3d). The gene discussed is G0S2; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
