The management plan and treatment protocol were individualized according to the presentation and severity of each case and included analgesics/antipyretics, antibiotics (mostly a third generation cephalosporine and azithromycin), steroids (dexamethasone), anticoagulants (enoxaparin), anticonvulsants, intravenous fluids, blood and albumin transfusion, antishock measures, and organ support (i.e., intubation and mechanical ventilation for respiratory failure). Here, ALB is linked to respiratory failure.
