Routine laboratory tests were included in the analysis, with significant higher values detected in acute HF for: leukocytes, electrolytes (calcium, magnesium), renal function (urea, creatinine, urinary sodium (UNa), urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR), microalbuminuria (MAU), spot urine creatinine), uric acid, serum iron, markers of cholestasis (total bilirubin, gamma-glutamyl transferase, alkaline phosphatase), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and total protein. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is cholestasis.
