On the contrary, in C-MYC knock-down ovarian cancer cells, extracellular free HMGB1 content significantly increased, while NCOA4 down-regulation could reverse this effect (Figure 4A), indicating that C-MYC might inhibit the release of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) through the NCOA4 axis in ovarian cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene NCOA4 and ovarian carcinoma.
