Elevating expression of DnaJB6b protects human cells, yeast, and animals from toxicity of highly expressed Huntington’s related poly-glutamine (polyQ, or polyQ-GFP) [21,24,26], and other human disease proteins, such as alpha-synuclein and TDP-43, which are associated with Parkinson’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, respectively [27,28]. The gene discussed is SNCA; the disease is Parkinson disease.
