We and others have shown that in addition to WNT5A, IL-6 promotes the invasive behavior of melanoma cells [15,31,33,34,35], and since we found MARCKS activation to be independent of WNT5A, we speculated that increased IL-6 signaling could instead be responsible for promoting MARCKS activation in BRAFi-R melanoma cells. This evidence concerns the gene WNT5A and melanoma.
