Epigenetic regulation of EMT-TF could occur at several levels [152,153]: (i) the promoter of EMT-TF, such as Twist, is hypomethylated; (ii) EMT-TFs expression could be regulated by histone modification and chromatin remodeling; (iii) a multitude of miRNAs have been described to be involved in the epigenetic regulation of EMT-TF, such as Snail, ZEB1, ZEB2 and Twist1; (iv) m6A deposition regulates EMT in cancer cells and translation of Snail. Here, TWIST1 is linked to cancer.
