CTNNB1 and gastric cancer: Upon the analysis of the TCGA dataset of 415 human gastric cancer tissue samples and 34 normal stomach samples, a dramatic increase in the mRNA levels of β-catenin (CTNNB1) and its downstream target genes, such as cMyc, CyclinD1 (CCND1), and MMP2, was observed in human gastric cancer tissue samples (Supplementary Figure S7).
