Although the two ORF3 proteins are quite different, both the ORF3 protein of the laying hen-derived VaHEV strain and the broiler-derived YT-aHEV strain provided good protection against YT-aHEV strain infection after immunization, and it was speculated that the ORF3 fragments of the two strains may share a common dominant antigenic epitopes, which also confirmed that the results of previous studies on ORF3 antigen epitope identification [26].
