FOXM1 and cancer: The phosphorylation of FOXM1 by CDK4/6 protects cancer cells from senescence by reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and promotes G1/S phase entrance in cancer cells by modulating the expression of numerous genes, including cyclin E2, MYB(proto-oncogene, transcription factor), and MCM2 (Minichromosome Maintenance Complex Component 2) [32].
