In summary, these cases suggest that extracorporeal treatments such as high cut-off hemodialysis and total plasma exchange with human albumin may be considered as add-on treatments in refractory cases of vitamin D3-induced hypercalcemia and excessive concentrations of 25-OH-vitamin D3, since they do not only treat hypercalcemia, but also causative hypervitaminosis. Here, ALB is linked to hypercalcemia disease.
