Indeed, in our model with C. albicans, we observed that the pre-stimulation of BEC by flagellin induced, on the one hand, training for the synthesis of IL-8, a chemokine which ensures the recruitment of neutrophils to the site of infection, and, on the other hand, a trend to a tolerant response for IL-6, thus reducing the inflammatory environment, which possibly limits cellular damage. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and infection.
