Although no significant association was found between lymph node metastasis and BiP positivity (n = 793, from 8 studies; I2 = 21%, CI = [0.92–2.17]) the analysis revealed a tendency for higher BiP immunodetection in metastatic tumors (post-treatment A), which agrees with BiP mRNA levels being highest in the metastasis tissues vs. primary tissues (Figure 1A).
