The study included 295,907 adults with type 2 DM and noticed that the gout incidence rate was lower among patients taking an SGLT2 inhibitor [HR= 0.64 95% CI, 0.57 to 0.72] and a rate difference of −2.9 (95% CI, −3.6 to −2.1) per 1000 person-years. This evidence concerns the gene SLC5A2 and gout.
