After adjusting for age, sex, ICU type, bacteremia, vasopressor use, WBC, PLT, hemoglobin, ALT, CK-MB, sodium, INR, and CRP, a strong association was observed between the L/A ratio and hospital mortality (OR 1.44, 95% CI 1.31–1.59, P < 0.001).
