TP53 and acute myeloid leukemia: Compared to respective single inhibition, the combination therapy with MDM2 inhibitors (Nutlin-3) activating p53 and BETi (CPI203) targeting Brd4 presents enhanced anti-acute myeloid leukemia activity, resulting from BETi’s ability to liberate Brd4-mediated repression of p53 target genes, and hence potentiate p53-induced apoptosis [41].
