In an Aβ25–35-induced mouse model of AD, administration of Yizhi Xingnao Decoction (18 g crude drug/kg/day) by gavage for 4 weeks inhibited tau hyperphosphorylation through the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt) pathway and promoted Aβ degradation by increasing the levels of insulin-degrading enzyme (IDE) and neprilysin (NEP), thereby improving the spatial memory of the mice (Yin et al., 2020; Yang C. et al., 2022). The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
