Sun et al. showed that the effective components of Ophiopogonis Radix (polysaccharides and saponins) could upregulate the expression of AQP1 and AQP5 in the lung tissue of mice with Mycoplasma pneumonia, reduce the pathological changes in lung tissue, and play a role in moisturizing the lungs and producing fluid (Sun Y. et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene AQP5 and Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia.
