Knockdown of Krüppel-like factor 5 (KLF5) gene expression in NSCLC cell lines H1299 and A549 relieved chemotherapy (cisplatin) resistance mediated by hypoxia, in which HIF-1α was suppressed, via inhibition of the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/AKT/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway (Gong et al., 2018).
