CAV-1 and the leptin receptor are co-localized in keratinocytes, and CAV-1 silenced human keratinocytes produce more IL-6 by co-stimulation with leptin and IL-17, suggesting that obesity deteriorates psoriasis by enhancing cytokine production in CAV-1 deficient psoriasis keratinocytes (89). The gene discussed is CAV1; the disease is obesity disorder.
