Indeed, specific polymorphisms of the HTR2A gene (homologous to Drosophila 5-HT2A), are associated with altered nutrient preferences (Prado-Lima et al., 2006), metabolic diseases (Halder et al., 2007), and eating disorders (Genis-Mendoza et al., 2019; Yan et al., 2021).
