It has been indicated in several studies that while TEXScore positively correlates with certain immunotherapeutic targets and is enriched in hot tumors (positively correlated with immune cell infiltration), it also correlates with T cells depletion markers, such as HSPB1 and HOXA5, suggesting that the stronger the suppression of antitumor immunity, the greater the depletion of T cells in gliomas. This evidence concerns the gene HSPB1 and central nervous system cancer.
