analyzed CEA, CA19-9, CA72-4, squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC), and neuron specific enolase (NSE) in the pericardial effusion of 29 patients with MPE and 25 patients with BPE, and found that measuring the level of CA 72-4 in pericardial fluid has certain diagnostic value for MPE (15).
