The above results also favor the inference that IL-17 has a dual role in tumors, with significantly higher IL-17 expression levels in patients with benign breast tumors than in malignant breast tumors; however, in patients with malignant breast tumors, high IL-17 expression may increase tumor aggressiveness by participating in signaling pathways such as tumor microangiogenesis, which is similar to the findings of Liu et al.
