PTEN and neoplasm: A genetically engineered Pten null mouse model is already established and well characterized (56, 57, 61), enabling follow-up in vivo tumor studies to assess how hits from the screen impact matrix alignment in vivo, as well as disease progression (i.e., tumor growth, invasion, metastasis) and other components of the tumor microenvironment (i.e., suppressive effects of normal fibroblasts, angiogenesis, immune response).
