This study aims to assess the levels of IL-1β as an inflammatory cytokine and sP-selectin as a novel plasma marker for thromboembolism in COVID-19 patients and correlate abnormalities in inflammatory and coagulation pathways (IL-1β and sP-selectin) to the severity of the disease and the occurrence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) even on anticoagulation therapy. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and Thromboembolism.
