Even though carbamate and organophosphate insecticides are not reported in this study, the frequency of the ace-1 G119S mutation suggests that the mutation was also present and any pressure on the vectors using carbamate or organophosphate-based insecticides will contribute to the increase of the mutation frequency, therefore reducing the range of insecticides that may be available for malaria vector control interventions in the country. The gene discussed is ACE; the disease is malaria.
