Factors strongly associated with 1-year mortality included older age (≥85 years), sex (male), lower BMI, NYHA functional class III or IV, presence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, peripheral vessel disease, malignancy, immunodeficiency, porcelain aorta, lower hemoglobin, lower serum albumin, higher creatinine, and emergency procedures.
