ALB and hepatocellular carcinoma: Wu et al. used micro-extrusion-based 3D printing technology to construct hepatic lobule-like mock structures using a combination of hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines and fibroblast cell lines (NIH/3T3) and two types of bio-ink, and showed that complex constructs with multiple cell types and different extracellular matrices could be constructed by an extrusion-based 3D printing process, and that the multicellular liver constructs exhibited albumin enhanced secretion (Wu et al., 2020).
