Given its broad and potent anti‐tumor activity in tumor xenograft models with a wide range of histologies,11 and the role of the sorafenib‐targeted VEGF and RAF–MEK–ERK pathways in the progression of gastric cancer,12, 13, 14 sorafenib was deemed to be a promising agent for the treatment of gastric cancer.
