An animal study has shown that miR-146a-3p is increased in aortic wall tissues of atherosclerosis mice, and the inhibition of miR-146a-3p was correlated to lower plasma lipid level, reduced inflammatory factors in serum, attenuated aortic wall apoptosis, increased antioxidant stress capacity, and improved the stability of pathological plaque by targeting HDAC1 [72]. The gene discussed is HDAC1; the disease is atherosclerosis.
