CHGB and cancer: As the CHGB anion channel is new to the field, many questions remain open on its transmembrane topology in forming the ion-conducting pore, its roles in adjusting [Cl−]i, Cl− accumulation in organellar space, and cell volume control in normal CHGB+ cells, other cells that transiently become CHGB+, and neuroendocrine transforms of cancer cells or other immortalized cells.
