MYC and infectious disease: GSEA of the highly expressed genes using HALLMARK gene sets and the REACTOME pathway database revealed an enrichment in epithelial to mesenchymal transition, Myc targets, apical junction, hypoxia and glycolysis as well as nervous system development, eukaryotic translation elongation, infectious disease, cellular responses to stimuli and Srp-dependent protein targeting to membrane (Fig. 4A).
