Adherence to guideline-directed medical therapies (GDMT), including antiplatelet agents, β-blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), and statins, is critical for secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease.10 Importantly, identifying the association between depression and GDMT adherence may focus interventions to improve such prevention. This evidence concerns the gene ACE and depressive symptom measurement.
