Therapies targeting GnRH have been widely used to treat or alleviate a variety of sex hormone-dependent diseases, such as endometriosis, uterine fibroid, polycystic ovary syndrome, precocious puberty, as well as in other therapeutic areas, such as suppression of the LH peak during assisted reproduction treatment and prevention of ovarian failure caused by systemic chemotherapy (Casper, 1991; Conn and Crowley, 1991; Chen et al., 2019). The gene discussed is GNRH1; the disease is endometriosis.
