To address this and to come up with a solution, α-synuclein-overexpressing cells were treated with caveolin-1 antisense phosphorothioates (p)-oligonucleotide (5′-TTTACCCCCAGACAT-3′; complementary to the 15-base initiation sequence of rat caveolin-1) and it showed to re-established ERK activity by up-regulating caveolin-1 expression in B103 neuroblastoma cells. The gene discussed is CAV1; the disease is neuroblastoma.
