CRP, an acute-phase inflammatory protein generated by IL-6-dependent hepatic biosynthesis, is a reliable indicator of IL-6 bioactivity and is used to predict the severity of CRS and evaluate the success of IL-6 blocking in CAR-T cell-induced CRS patients (van der Hoek et al., 2004; de Wilde et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and congenital rubella syndrome.
