The expression levels of endogenous STYK1/NOK were first checked in a panel of human cell lines including human prostate adenocarcinoma (PC-3) cells, human brain glioblastoma (U-87 MG) cells, human colorectal adenocarcinoma (DLD-1) cells and human cervical carcinoma (HeLa) cells, as well as in two non-transformed human cell lines such as retinal pigment epithelial RPE-1 cells and human embryonic kidney 293T (HEK293T) cells. The gene discussed is STYK1; the disease is cervical carcinoma.
