The results showed that the AUCs of the ROC for NGAL and TIMP-2 × IGFBP7 predicting the occurrence of AKI during the entire hospitalization of patients were 0.706 (95% CI: 0.559–0.854) and 0.682 (95% CI: 0.535–0.829), respectively, with corresponding sensitivities and specificities of 54.5, 76.9, 40.0, and 88.4%. This evidence concerns the gene TIMP2 and acute kidney injury.
