PTH and rickets: Consequently, bone mineralization defects will also be present in these patients, which will result in biochemical alterations, such as increased PTH and hypovitaminosis D. As for the possible therapies of this rare pathology, the use of bisphosphonates and biological therapy, which will inhibit the altered gene path, appear to be promising, although for both therapeutic alternatives further research is needed (Chapurlat and Orcel 2008).
