After adjusting for confounding variables, the PC1 (encompassing EGF and interferon (IFN)-α) was associated with lower odds of AKI (OR = 0.24, 95% CI: 0.07–0.78, p = 0.017) and the PC4 (encompassing IL-12 and macrophage inflammatory protein (MIP)-1β) was associated with higher odds of AKI (OR = 51.09, 95% CI: 2.12–1233, p = 0.015) on day 1. The gene discussed is IFNA17; the disease is acute kidney injury.
