ES-Screen identified previously unreported interactions of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) indomethacin, licofelone, and oxaprozin with human adipocyte fatty acid-binding protein (FABP4) and human aldose reductase (AKR1B1), important targets in metabolic diseases such as diabetes. This evidence concerns the gene AKR1B1 and diabetes mellitus.
